Low Poly Art

Low Poly (low-polygon art) emerged in the 1980s and 1990s as a technical solution in video games and 3D animation to optimize graphics by reducing processing loads. Starting around 2010, it evolved into a minimalist digital art style. Although a contemporary discipline, its aesthetic roots link back to early 20th-century Italian Futurism (Boccioni, Balla), which fragmented reality into geometric facets to capture movement and modernity. Today, it remains active across Italian design, illustration, and advertising.
